Comparison
Beye vs Static Reporting: Beyond the Published View
Track the metric. Then work through the exception.
A published report is useful when a team needs a consistent view of known metrics. Beye adds a different workflow: connect operational data through Fabric, ask follow-up questions with conversational analytics, and turn useful calculations into reusable business tools. You can keep the reporting that works and evaluate Beye for the work that continues after someone spots an exception.
“Static reporting” means a workflow centered on prepared reports, not a claim that BI products are static or lack AI. Power BI reports are interactive and can update with underlying data; Copilot also adds conversational capabilities. Those are documented examples, not a verdict on Power BI, Tableau, Looker or every BI configuration.
The dashboard found the problem. Now comes the interesting bit. 😉
001 / Fit
Which approach fits the work?
Consider Beye when
- You want connected operational data maintained through a data fabric, with source coverage and update cadence agreed before the work begins. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
- You want conversational analytics to lead into reusable business tools, with inputs your team can change and run again. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
- You want inspectable calculations, attributed revisions and previous runs together in a shared workspace. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
Trade-off. Connections and business context still need setup. Connector coverage is not exhaustive, and automated agents are coming soon. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
Consider static reporting when
- You need a consistent, published view of a semantic model for repeated review. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
- Your team mainly explores through prepared visuals, filters and existing report permissions. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
- You already have a reporting workflow that serves the business; additional analytics or AI can be evaluated within that environment. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
Trade-off. A report can support interactive exploration, but a new operational calculation may require work beyond the published view. Test that change process before replacing an existing reporting investment. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
002 / Matrix
Data fabric, analytics and tools at a glance
Compare the workflow, then test your actual setup. Named products illustrate capabilities; they do not represent every product in the category.
Every cell has two labels. Capability says what exists. Evidence says where the claim comes from. The same standards apply to both vendors, and each side is the publisher's own statement, not independent testing.
Capability
- Available In the product today, as stated by that product's publisher.
- Depends on setup Exists, but depends on the source, configuration or scope.
- Coming soon Announced as forthcoming. Not available today.
- Not verified The public sources we reviewed do not settle it. This is not a "No".
Evidence
- Beye reported Beye's own statement about its product. Not independent testing.
- Vendor documented The vendor's public material about its own product. Beye has not tested it.
- Sources inconclusive No public source we reviewed settles it.

003 / Trade-offs
Strengths and trade-offs
Beye
Strengths
- A data fabric, conversational analytics, sandboxed Python and reusable business tools in one workspace. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
- Shared revisions and previous runs keep useful work available for the next person. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
Limitations
- Connections and business context still need setup. Connector coverage is not exhaustive, and automated agents are coming soon. Sources: Beye Fabric, tools and collective history
Static reporting
Strengths
- Consistent visual views of a semantic model, with interaction and filtering. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
- Existing report permissions let designers control how business users explore published work. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
Limitations
- The report and its semantic model define the published view; a new workflow may need additional design work. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
- Copilot extends reporting with AI, but its requirements and feature availability need checking for your environment. Sources: Copilot for Power BI: capabilities and requirements

Consider Static reporting if
a prepared, interactive view of known metrics meets the need, and your existing reporting environment already supports how the team works. Sources: Power BI reports: models, interaction and permissions
Questions to test with your team
- Can we try one real workflow on our own data and inspect the calculations behind the result?
- Which sources are supported, how often will they update, and who handles a failed connection?
- Where do our business definitions live, and who maintains them when a rule changes?
- Can a colleague rerun the same logic with new inputs and see the revision used?
- What data, code and history can we take with us if we leave?
- Who helps after launch, what support hours and response commitments are included, and who owns an escalation?

Sources and method
Beye wrote this page and reviewed each source on the date shown. “Not verified” means the public sources we read do not settle a point. It is not a “No”. Labels are defined in the legend above the comparison table. The cited examples illustrate this category; Beye has not independently tested them or surveyed every product or configuration.
